Somatic Movement Therapy

with

Elizabeth DeLaBarre

Your session in Holistic Biomechanics™ will be over Zoom or in Elizabeth’s midtown Manhattan space.

After a brief assessment, I will ask you to observe places on your structure using the practice of Two Points of Awareness or Grid Points. Then you’ll practice simple movements in different positions so your nervous system can integrate the new information into your daily activities.

I may use hands-on contact (with no intent other than to provide sensory feedback), as well as sandbags, the foam roller and pinky balls.

Afterwards, you’ll explore the recorded class library at http://fajardomethodmovement.com where you can do movement classes for the same area that we observed. Doing so will allow the new motor pattern to become stable, a process which takes your nervous system about a week.

When you’re ready, we’ll do another session to map a different part of your body so you can continue to create an accurate body map of your structure. Doing so will give your brain the information it needs to stabilize towards Parasympathetic.

Elizabeth DeLaBarre uses Somatic Therapy Fajardo Method to increase Nervous System adaptability and Parasympathetic access.

I look forward to working together!
