Fajardo Method of Holistic Biomechanics

FMHB

FMHB is a system where we use proprioception to map the structure of our body and inform our Nervous System as to our current location.

Doing this practice in stillness and while moving in simple, novel ways allows our unconscious brain to holistically regulate all of our bodily systems (Nervous, Skeletal, Muscular, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Endocrine, Digestive, Immune, etc.).

When we stop trying to consciously control our movement, breathing, or any aspect of our physiology, the nervous system reestablishes control of our structure and systemic functioning. Neural networks create efficient motor patterns that relieve us of wear and tear, restricted tissues, and suboptimal performance in all our systems.

FMHB is helpful for the acute or chronic injury, athletic performance, convalescence, mental issues such as anxiety/depression, general wellness, and most situations since the practice moves one towards a Parasympathetic state where our body can function optimally.

The sensory awareness tools used in FMHB promote the body’s ability to balance itself and maintain homeostasis. By sensing our location in the current environment, our nervous system organizes around the present moment, thus regaining its ability to respond physically and mental/emotionally with flexibility and adaptation.
